Photoelectric colour sorter is a kind of colour sorting equipment realized by using photoelectric sensor and high-speed computer technology. Its working principle mainly includes the following steps:

1. material feeding: the material to be treated is fed into the colour sorter through the feeding device.

2. light source irradiation: the colour sorter is equipped with high intensity light source inside, the light source will be irradiated to the material to be treated.

3. Photoelectric Sensor Detection: The photoelectric sensor array detects the colour and shape of the material by receiving the light signals reflected back from the material.

4. Signal Processing: The photoelectric sensor converts the detected light signals into electrical signals, which are amplified, filtered and denoised by the signal processing system to obtain more accurate feature data.

5. Feature extraction: through computer image processing algorithms, various feature information of the material is extracted, such as colour, shape, size and so on.

6. Feature Comparison: Compare the extracted feature information with the pre-set standard features to judge whether the material meets the requirements.

7. Signal control: According to the result of comparison, the colour sorter sorts the materials through the control device and rejects the materials that do not meet the requirements.

8. Output sorting: after sorting, the materials that meet the requirements are sent out respectively.
